The original proposals for Coed Darcy emerged during the 1990s when BP, the Welsh Assembly Government, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community formed a partnership to find a way of redeveloping the BP Llandarcy Oil Refinery.
The partnership believed that the site of a former BP oil refinery could be recovered to accommodate the housing targets set out in the local authority’s growth plan and set within a new, visionary sustainable community.
St. Modwen is now working with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community to bring forward the vision for the site.
Neath Port Talbot Council is working to make the County Borough an attractive place to live, visit and invest in. The Coed Darcy project is one of the most important regeneration schemes for the county borough and beyond. It will provide high quality housing and community facilities for the people of Neath Port Talbot and demonstrates the growing confidence in the area.
