At the heart of the northern area will be the main square, a place where people living and working in the community can get together to meet, socialise and relax. It will be supported by a further green square in the southern half of Coed Darcy.
The main square will become the social heart of the community and will feature essential community facilities such as a food store, retail units, community facilities including a hall and library as well as a district providing a wide range of leisure and recreational facilities. It will also be home to Coed Darcy’s secondary school, which will be open to the public for community sporting and social group activities outside school hours.
Further shops and associated community and sporting facilities can be found in, the nearby town of Neath which lies directly north of Coed Darcy, with Port Talbot to the east and the city of Swansea located just five miles away to the South West.
