Accessibility, Walking and Cycling

There is growing evidence that access to green space and the natural environment has significant benefits for public health.

Coed Darcy will provide a range of outdoor facilities including a strong network of footpaths and cycleways to encourage recreation and walking.

A comprehensive network of almost four miles of cycle routes and footpaths will thread through and around the scheme. The routes will have good connections to the site’s leisure facilities, schools and business area promoting alternatives to the car and a more sustainable form of transport.

The new cycle routes will also link with the existing Sustrans National Cycle Network at Fabian Way in Swansea.

Footpaths will link at Skewen to encourage greater cycling and walking to work and for recreational purposes, whilst also providing easier accessibility for visitors to the community.
